Meet Grissom.  This handsome, gentle, 12 yr. old, German Shepherd/ Hound mix guy will make you want to smile and cry the moment you look at his fragile body. He will melt your heart. Watching Grissom move slowly, carefully across the grass, you know that he must have gone through a great deal, and yet, there is something so special about him.   He is a wise, gentle, adorable soul who was found as a stray, severely underweight, and clearly so tired from being on his own for so long.  He is a brave boy, a fighter, a lover boy at heart.  Grissom is doing much better now and loves companionship and leisurely walks.  In fact, he will take a tour of the play yard at Rescue Ridge in central New Jersey, noticing every detail as he sniffs the air, appreciating life and the second chance he is receiving. Grissom will look up at you for a moment, walk over to you to check you out, and then plant a quite gallant kiss on your hand!  Oh, how we wish we had known him in his prime, but he is a special senior boy who belongs in a home, living out his years, with a person or calm family to love him.  Grissom loves his ears rubbed, his chin rubbed, and will snuggle next to you while he gently places his body carefully on the ground. He enjoys a short, leisurely walk taking it all in, listening to the birds, watching the squirrels go by.
