Let's give a very warm welcome to beautiful, 16-month-old, ~45 lbs., adult, child, dog and cat-friendly, Cocoa! She is a newbie at Rescue Ridge and is a courtesy post for another local, N. J. rescue. This beautiful, gentle, playful, affectionate girl has been through a lot in her young life but that is all behind her now. You would never know that this stunning Dutch Shepherd/ Plott Hound mix sweetheart was beaten and left tied to a fire hydrant! She was one of those very unfortunate souls who was adopted through Craig's List and rescued by a local, N. J. rescue. Please, folks, do not ever put your animals up on Craig's list to sell or free to a good home. THIS happens many, many times to great animals. Cocoa is one of the lucky ones and she loves to amuse herself, playing ball in the play yard at Rescue Ridge. Oh, she knows Sit and Down and takes toys, treats and food gently, too. You might even get one of her gentle kisses! Cocoa is housebroken, and well-mannered in the home. She did well in her temporary foster home and is now in her kennel at Rescue Ridge hoping you will come and adopt her real soon.
