We received word on 11/13/2012 that Simon, Alvin & Theodore have been adopted! Thank you!
This is a courtesy post, so please do not contact Rescue Ridge, but instead contact Karen at LoveElwood@comcast.net or apply online at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NJ451.html.
Simon, Alvin & Theodore are three cutie pies, who through no fault of their own, need to be rehomed. Karen is fostering them for All Star Pet Rescue but must find furever families for all three. They are all under 4 years old, neutered and up to date on their shots! They are all very sweet and loving. Theodore needs some work on housebreaking and chewing, but Alvin & Simon are ready for new homes now! Here's what All Star Pet Rescue has to say about each one:
Alvin (first pic) has been with his foster mom for several months now. He is a sweet and quiet little lap dog who just wants to be near his person. He is the most independent of the 3 we took out of their situation. He only weighs about 6 or 7 pounds. Alvin HAD to be the runt of his litter - he is so tiny and petite. As you can see in his photos is just cute as a button. He has really long, spindly legs and he likes for you to chase him. Alvin came from a over-crowded apartment in NYC. Shy and very thin. He has been vetted and is microchipped as well. He came in with mange which is doing very well and was very malnourished. Since his diet has improved and he has been medicated - his skin issues have improved and the mange is all cleared. Alvin likes to romp around the yard and doesn't mind mixing it up with the big dogs. He is learning to enjoy attention and handling by humans but he is still a bit skittish about being picked up. He will blossom into a great companion. We guess him to be about 4 years old.
Simon (middle pic) has been with his foster mom for several months now. He has a playful and friendly little personality. Simon is outgoing and curious. He's come a long way from living in an over-crowded apartment in NYC with his "brothers" Theodore and Alvin. Simon is adorable and will be a great pet and best friend if given the chance. Well after spending two weeks in his foster home, he is a different dog. Simon is now outgoing and silly and his best friend is a rambunctious Pit Bull. He went from being shy & withdrawn to running like a rocket thru the yard being chased by the Pittie. He seems to be the "boss" of the trio we took in. He is still somewhat skittish and it will take him time to adjust to a new situation but the progress he has made so far is nothing short of amazing. Rather than hide in a corner of his crate, he comes out to seek attention. He likes to be outside and has taken to sleeping in the bed with the resident dogs. He has no fear of the larger pooches. He is up to date with his shots, now neutered and microchipped. Simon looks more like an otter than a dog! He really has a cute face and will make a great pet. But he will need a patient home - the 3 amigos do tend to get upset when they are separated from their pack members. But they have already accepted and gotten used to their new situation - they will be able to do it again. Simon is between 1-2 years old and weighs 13 pounds.
Theodore (third Pic) has been living with his foster mom for several months now. He is extremely affectionate and loving with his people, but shy around strangers and strange situations. He just needs some more time and patience. Little Theodore was living in a cramped apartment in Manhattan with his "brothers" Alvin and Simon. Theodore is completely vetted including shots and a neuter along with a microchip. He is between 1-2 years old and weighs 12 pounds. He has very long legs and always has an adorable expression on his face. He seems to have left his hoarding days behind. He is not a barker but does not like to be crated (in fact, he keeps escaping out of his crate here in his foster home). Theodore has left his past behind him and needs your help in showing him just how nice a dog's life can really be.
