Leon is a 10 year old Chow Mix that desperately needs a foster or permanent home. Leon was surrendered to a shelter in North Jersey by his elderly owner who could no longer care for him. When Leon arrived at the shelter, both of his ears were badly infected and he was unable to walk due to painful tumors on his paws. He was in severe pain yet managed to be friendly and sweet. A good Samaritan/rescue volunteer pulled Leon from the shelter because he was going to be euthanized and immediately brought him to her vet for much needed medical care. The tumors on his paws were removed and his ears are being treated. Leon is recovering nicely but he's still at the vet's office and now needs a foster or permanent home where he can fully recover. His temperament is amazing! Very social, loves to be pet, shows belly and sits well. Leon is very affectionate and likes to give kisses. He pulls on the leash when you walk him and he does bark at other dogs. He would probably be best as an only pet since we are not sure how he is with other dogs or cats. He loves to eat and appears to have NO food issues. As you can see from his photo, he is very handsome. Please won't you open your heart and home to Leon? On '10-10-26 Leon was adopted.
