 Hi, my name is Rosetta. I am a gentle, loving 5-6 year old female Pit Bull mix. A bit larger in stature, I am one of those sweethearts you would consider to be a gentle giant. But, don’t let my size fool you… I am a very calm, laid back young lady. I can faintly recall these confining walls. As a puppy, I was adopted from the same shelter that I find myself waiting in once again. With a cute little face and sweet puppy breath, it wasn’t too hard to win over the hearts of the family I thought would give me my furever home. Except now, I am an adult and it’s not so easy to find someone who is willing to give you a chance. Years after I was rescued as a pup, I was found wandering the streets as a stray. I was pretty scared when I arrived here with all this noise and commotion, but the volunteers are so nice to me that they have really helped me calm my nerves. Now that I’m getting used to things around here, I really look forward to going out with the shelter staff and volunteers. I know that once I find my furever home where I belong, I will finally be able to relax and settle right in. This place can be pretty frightening when you don’t know what to expect. I absolutely adore people and am highly affectionate. I’m the ultimate sweetheart and kisses are my specialty! I would even be willing to share your love with a doggie brother. (I mesh well with most submissive males.) Despite my large size, I’m easy to handle. My leash manners are impeccable and the volunteers are so impressed with my calm demeanor. They love to take me out because they always say I’m such a pleasure to walk. I sit and wait patiently in hopes that it’s me they are coming to spend time with. I could probably afford to shed a few winter pounds, so I would make a perfect companion to someone who is looking for a walking buddy to spend time with outdoors. If you don’t like to walk, I also do great on the treadmill, so if you have one that’s collecting dust, I can put it to good use for you! I am proud to say that I know some basic commands like “sit” and I am ever so gentle when taking treats from you. I truly am a sweet girl and am desperately looking for a second chance.
