Hi, my name is Dottie. I am a 3-4 year old medium-sized Hound Mix and I am a sweetheart of a girl. I was picked up as a stray and brought to a local animal shelter where I would start my search for a new family to love. Many months passed by, and time after time, I was constantly overlooked by families that came to adopt a companion. I would just lie in my cage and watch as all of the other doggies found their new homes. I was starting to get depressed because I couldn’t understand why nobody wanted me. I am so well-behaved and loving and would make a phenomenal pet for someone willing to give me a chance. Finally, it was decided that I would be transferred from the shelter to Rescue Ridge where I could gain some more exposure. I’m pretty excited because they say it should be any day now that I will live in the comfort of a loving home. I sure hope so - I’ve been waiting a long time. I love to give kisses, cuddle, and I enjoy just being in the company of the volunteers. As soon as I arrived, they immediately fell in love with my sweet nature. They tell me I am the best of both worlds – I am content just lounging around and relaxing in the sun and I also look forward to playing and romping around in the grass. Despite my mellow appearance, I can be quite energetic, too. I enjoy a great game of fetch and can even catch treats in the air. Oh, and I also know some basic commands – “sit”, “paw”, “down” and “come”. I am very well-mannered on a leash and nothing beats a nice walk. I am great with people and will settle into my new home with ease. As you can see from my photos, I am quite beautiful and after you meet me, you will see that my personality makes me the ideal family companion. If properly introduced, I get along well with most dogs, but I haven’t been in the company of kitties yet, so we are not sure if I can live with one in a home. I am a well-balanced, all-around great girl and I would love for a family to take me home soon. I bring a smile to everyone’s face and have so much unconditional love to offer.
