Hi, my name is Skip. I am just 10 months old and being part of a family is something I have never experienced in life. No one seems to be sure of my breed, but I’m told that I look part Cattle Dog or part Border Collie/Terrier mix. Regardless of my breed, I am a super sweet boy and would make an excellent pet that any family would be delighted to have around.
Just a few months ago, I was living in a cage at a high-kill shelter in Georgia where they were going to euthanize me. My furever family was taking too long to find me and my time was up before I knew it. At the last minute, I was put on a transport and sent to New Jersey where I found out that I had been rescued! Although living in a kennel is not quite the same as sharing my days in a loving home, at least I know now that I’m safe! I absolutely love to give kisses, cuddle and am extremely affectionate. Since I am still just a puppy, I have a high energy level - I love to play, play, play! No one has ever taken the time to teach me leash manners, but a basic obedience class or a family that takes some time to train me would transform me into an exceptional companion. The volunteers have started to work with me, and in just one day, they taught me how to sit (for a treat, of course!). I would do best with a family that has the time to exercise me as I love to go for walks and run around. I’m sure to entertain you with my playful puppy antics. I have a great temperament with other dogs as long as I am properly introduced, but I don’t care for kitties too much. I currently weigh just over 40 pounds, but need to gain a couple more pounds. Kennel life can be stressful! I am a massive kisser and love to gently jump up and hug all the people that show me affection. As you can see from my pictures, I am a very happy boy. I typically spend my Saturdays at our adoption events so please come down and meet me. You are guaranteed to fall in love!
